[RDD] Creating announcements with the current time

Surely this could be accomplished with RML as-is?

RML triggers bash script, bash script makes a symlink from a specific
cart's audio file target to the correct file, then RML plays that
cart, RD follows symlink to the audio, problem solved... right? What
am I missing here?
